Sean Jean Clothing – Urban Clothing Sensation
In 1998, Sean Combs (P. Diddy) launched his collection of sportswear, Sean John Clothing. He has always thought that a great sense of style is important to every aspect of life. Combs created this company in order to fill the market with urban clothing that is marked by sophistication. His clothes is superior quality and stylish, a fashion forward clothing line that appeals to more than just the urban market.
Based in New York City, Sean John Clothing has received critical and commercial success. Comb’s clothing line has gone from an urban label to an international brand thanks to the support of both the fashion community and retailers. While Combs was building his line, he was looking to reflect his own diverse style.
Comb’s clothing line is geared towards men of all ages and includes jeans, shirts, hoodies, jackets, suits, and his signature fragrance Unforgivable. Combs has also made a line of clothing for women, which has become the essence of trendy in the world of Urban, Pop, and Hip Hop clothing.
In 2000 Sean Combs was nominated for the Council of Fashion Designers of America Award as menswear designer of the year for the Sean Jean line. Although Marc Jacobs won the award that year, this nomination pushed Sean Combs into a very privileged category with other famous designers. He was nominated again in 2001.
The artist has said that he owes all of his motivation to his family. His grandmother, who was a seamstress in Harlem, taught him the fundamentals of sewing. His mother, who had given herself the title of “shopaholic”, gave him the inspiration and vision to someday create his own clothing line. His “Uncle George”, who had a flair for style, taught Combs to be fashion savvy.
